Gem Spot - Turquoise

In contemplation of communication with the heavenly realm, I focused on the color turquoise. Turquoise is also a gorgeous gemstone that is also a stone of protection as well as connecting Heaven and Earth. The color turquoise is strongly associated with the throat chakra.

The throat chakra or energy center is the foundation of your ability to know the truth, live your truth and speak your truth. It is also the place from which we truly hear, not just listen, to others. Others include communication from friends, colleagues and family but also from your guides and angels. This stone encourages a peaceful and calming demeanor. The color is the complimentary color for calming inflamed situations or bringing balance to rampant emotions.

The reason turquoise came to mind is because I want to communicate with one of the Archangels on behalf of a friend.

Embracing Feelings

There are so many ways to deal with feelings. You can ignore them. You can be angry. You can work and do things to avoid feeling the feelings. You can try to please those around you by hiding the feelings so your family or friends won't be uncomfortable. But in the end, the reality strikes and eventually you must embrace your feelings.

If the feelings are shoved down to far they'll eventually cause illness. If you are lucky, you'll manifest a simple cold that'll make you stop, rest, feel, cry and take the time to nurture yourself during your "down time." If you aren't so lucky, you could manifest something much more serious after it's too late.

Even though it's uncomfortable it is important to let feelings rise to the surface. It is healthy. It is also a very vulnerable feeling. There is great power in vulnerability. This brings to mind an article I wrote in 2006 when my Aunt Rose and my Dad were still alive. At this time I am grieving the loss of 3 elders that transitioned in the past 6 months. They were my closest parental figures. I embrace the feelings I have, for I miss my dearest Dad, Marguerite Barringer and Aunt Rose so much. I m happy for them because I feel their joy but it doesn't stop the feelings of missing them. Please read my article of July 2006.

We have all been here before . . .

I woke up in contemplation of the lovely elders in my life. Then I really woke up and realized my favorite elders are now in the heavenly realm. The elders I was closest to and whom I love so much took the exit out of this lifetime. They have headed on to another dimensional reality. My sweet Godmother, Aunt Rose, left for heaven on Monday, 2/1. And Marguerite Barringer left on July 10, 2009 and dear old Dad left on November 23, 2009.

I'm not grieving in the traditional sense for them anymore. I feel nostalgic occasionally and I do "hear" from them and "see" them from time to time. I hear from them in the words that come out of my own mouth. Their words of wisdom they've taught me over the years flow through me to remind me and those around me of the bigger picture and love. I see them in my dreams and they are so happy! Their happiness relieves me from grasping for their presence. Instead I celebrate their freedom and join with them in their joy - heart to heart and mind to mind.

During my father's last months on the planet, I learned so much. (and I learned a lot through a whole lifetime as the daughter of both my parents.) There was a special moment the night before Dad left for the heavenly realm. Actually it felt like 20 minutes but one can't time these things. In those moments, I felt not only his boundless love and gratitude for me but also a passing of the mantle of his wisdom like a download that can't be expressed in words. Because of this immeasurable gift, I am at peace.

I believe in past lives and future lives. During the days he was preparing to leave his body, Dad shared he was considering returning here again. He said, "you know, I think I want to do this again." I said, "What do you mean, Dad?" He said, "I want to start over again. I think I can do it even better next time. Yes, I think I'll do that."

As part of my spiritual practice, I facilitate Past Life Regressions for my clients. I'll be offering a group Past Life Regresssion experience on Monday, February 8th at The Crystal Garden. This gives people a little experience in tapping into their prior experiences which in turn helps them with present day challenges or repetitive patterns. (If you are interested, call to sign up or schedule a private. Ooops - I guess this is the paragraph with a commercial advertisement!)

My colleague, M.J. Rose, has a great Past Life Series coming out on TV based on her book starting February 9th. Here is the information: PAST LIFE -THE TV SHOW – NEW TIME Premier after American Idol

Relationship with yourself

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, my thoughts flow toward relationships. All relationships require time. Time to enjoy each other, time to cultivate a deeper bond, time to just be. This time is a necessary ingredient in all healthy relationships. In fact, taking the time to ponder who and what you are in relationship with is an interesting thing to contemplate.

We have a romantic relationship (or not). We have platonic relationships, business relationships, co-worker relationships, and acquaintance relationships. Then there is the relationship we have with animals and nature - including the garden. Actually, we have a relationship with everything including the device that is allowing you to read this blog in this moment. But what about the relationship we have with ourselves?

Take a bit of time to pause and look in the mirror. Place your attention on the relationship you have with yourself. Observe and contemplate your thoughts and listen to yourself and the things you say to yourself. Do you like the way you treat yourself? Are you loving yourself the way you want to be loved?

During this month of love, celebrate the love for you have for yourself. If you don't find it, then weed out whatever is in the way and take the time to cultivate self-love.
